Dr. Erika Gonzalez

Chief Executive Officer & President

Dr. Erika Gonzalez is the CEO & President of STAAMP Allergy. She previously served as the Chief of the Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology division at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and was an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine.

She is actively involved as a community leader including serving on the Board of Directors and as the 2020 and 2021 Immediate Past Chairwoman for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors for Central Catholic Highschool. She is an Advisor to the Dean of Science Engineering & Technology at St. Mary’s University and at the state and national level, she is on the Stock Epinephrine Committee with the Texas Department of State Health Services, and is Co-Chair for the Small Business for America’s Future.

Dr. Gonzalez founded the nonprofit, Con Corazon SA, addressing health inequities and emergency preparedness in San Antonio and the surrounding area. Dr. Gonzalez is a native of San Antonio, graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary’s University, obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and returned home after completing 10 years of Active Duty Service as a Medical Officer in the U. S. Air Force.

She was selected as a 2019 Presidential Leadership Scholar and was appointed to serve on the National Medal of Science Committee by President Joe Biden. Most recently, STAAMP was awarded San Antonio Business Journal’s 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Award for their work to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

Dr. John Dice

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Dice is the Chief Medical Officer and attending physician at STAAMP and investigator for STAAMP Research.

Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Dice graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Virginia. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Allergy & Immunology in the US Air Force and went on to serve 13 years active duty before separating as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Before his time at STAAMP, Dr. Dice served as Chief of Allergy & Immunology at Keesler AFB and Scott AFB, was the Director of Immunizations for Wilford Hall Medical Center, and is an author of two book chapters and lecturer on the topic of urticaria.

Cari Alvarado

Executive Strategic Analyst

Ms. Alvarado is the Executive Strategic Analyst at STAAMP Allergy. She attended Troy University, where she earned a Bachelor’s  Degree in Business Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Business Management.

In her role, Cari is responsible for analyzing industry dynamics, harnessing competitive intelligence and delivering data-driven insights to support strategic decision making. She plays a pivotal role in aligning departmental goals with the organization's strategic vision while ensuring the seamless and effective execution of its' strategic initiatives. She actively participates in the development and execution of short-term and long -term strategic plans, monitors project budgets, and ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within defined scopes. 

When Cari is not at STAAMP Allergy, she enjoys more creative pursuits consisting of painting and At-Home DIY crafts all while being a full-time dog mom to three fur-babies.

Isabel Alejandro

Staff & Facilities Manager

Mrs. Alejandro is the Staff & Facilities Manager at STAAMP Allergy. Isabel is known for assisting with administrative support to all clinic departments and providing customer service satisfaction. She was one of the Founding Employees of STAAMP Allergy and brings over 20 years of Medical Billing and Administrative Management experience; manages and oversees our Administrative, Billing and Referral Departments. 

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and fur babies, exploring Texas State Parks and Emerald Coast campsites.

Grace Hughes

Family Nurse Practitioner

Ms. Hughes is a Nurse Practitioner at STAAMP Allergy. She attended North Park University in Chicago, IL and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science with a major in Nursing in 2010. She then attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and graduated with a Master's of Science in Nursing in 2015. NP Hughes works in collaboration with the physicians of STAAMP to provide compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to our patient's and their families. 

When she is not working with patients, she is likely spending time traveling or doing something fun outdoors with her husband and two daughters.

Chardonnay Phelan

Physician Assistant

Chardonnay "Charlie" Phelan is a Physician Assistant at STAAMP Allergy. She attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She then went on to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and graduated with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. PA Charlie works in collaboration with the physicians of STAAMP to provide compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care to our patient's and their families. 

When Charlie is not at STAAMP, she can be found hiking local trails with her West Highland White Terrier, Finlay. 

Dr. Lucia Salas (IMG)

Clinical Education and Research Coordinator

Dr. Salas is the Clinical Educator and Research Coordinator at STAAMP Allergy. She attended the University of Monterrey (UDEM) in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; and graduated with Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Salas contributes with clinic consultation under supervision and guidance of Dr. Gonzalez. She participates in lectures and clinical cases providing skillful patient education. Dr. Salas is also responsible for recruiting patients for research trials.

When Lucia is not at STAAMP Allergy, she is on the phone or in a restaurant talking with friends and family.

Dr. Aline Leduc (IMG)

Clinical Education & Research Coordinator

Dr. Leduc is a Clinical Education and Research Coordinator at STAAMP Allergy. After obtaining her Medical Degree in Mexico,

she attended the Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública for her Master's Degree in Public Health, where she graduated with

honors. Aline is responsible for working collaboratively with members of the health care team, primarily assisting Physicians, our Research team, and the Medical Assistants while delivering elite quality customer service to patients. She accompanies the CCM patients in their quest for health empowerment so that they can adequately manage their chronic diseases from the perspective of healthy aging.

When Aline is not at STAAMP, she likes traveling and going to the park with her husband and their two golden retrievers.

Dr. Ivette Lopez (IMG)

Clinical Education & Research Coordinator

 Dr. Lopez is a Clinical Education and Research Coordinator at STAAMP Allergy. She obtained her medical degree in Mexico and has over ten years of international experience in patient care in rural and urban communities. Ivette uses her healthcare experience, talents, and problem-solving skills to create comprehensive care plans for the CCM program. She works with the healthcare team to deliver quality care to our patients and recruits patients for our clinical trials. She was previously involved in the quality improvement of the immunotherapy team at STAAMP Allergy.

When Ivette is not at STAAMP Allergy, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two schnauzer dogs. Dr. Lopez also has a passion for singing, dancing and cooking.

Dr. Daniela Ramirez (IMG)

Immunotherapy Coordinator

Dr. Daniela Ramirez is the IT Coordinator at STAAMP Allergy. She attended Universidad de Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and graduated with her Doctor in Medicine Degree. Daniela is responsible for the preparation, distribution and oversight of the Immunotherapy clinic.

When Daniela is not an IT Coordinator at STAAMP Allergy, she is at relaxing cafes or participating in outdoor activities with friends and family.

Dr. Dario Rocha (IMG)

Clinical Research Coordinator

Dr. Dario Rocha is a Clinical Research Coordinator at STAAMP Research. He attended the University of Monterrey, School of Medicine in Monterrey, Mexico, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. Additionally, he completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. As a Clinical Research Coordinator, Dr. Rocha is responsible for coordinating and managing clinical research studies. His responsibilities include overseeing project timelines, coordinating study activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing data collection. 

During his free time from research at STAAMP, he enjoys taking care of his plants, savoring an espresso, and going cycling.

Dr. Estefania Ramirez Hinojosa (IMG)

Clinical Research Coordinator

Dr. Estefania Ramirez Hinojosa is a Clinical Research Coordinators at STAAMP Research. She attended La Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico and graduated with her Medical Degree. Dr. Ramirez is responsible for coordinating and managing clinical research studies. Her responsibilities include overseeing project timelines, coordinating study activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing data collection. 

When Estefania is not at STAAMP, her and her rescue dog "Botas" like to go hiking. She also enjoys painting, dancing and singing. Getting together with friends or watching a good movie. 

Dr. Daniela Alverdi (IMG)

Clinical Research Coordinator

Dr. Daniela Alverdi is the Clinical Research Coordinator at STAAMP Research. She attended La Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and graduated with her Medical Degree. Dr. Alverdi is responsible for coordinating and managing clinical research studies. Her responsibilities include overseeing project timelines, coordinating study activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and data management.

When Daniela is not at STAAMP, enjoys reading and spending time with her cat.

Dr. Pilar Diaz del Guante Pliego (IMG)

Clinical Research Coordinator & Physician Liaison

Pilar Diaz del Guante serves as the Physician Liaison for the Asthma Center of Excellence and STAAMP, bringing over five years of expertise in chronic care and healthcare management. A graduate of the University of Monterrey in Mexico with a Medical Degree, Pilar is deeply committed to enhancing patient experiences and fostering collaborative relationships within the medical community.

In her role, Pilar builds and nurtures relationships with referring physicians and health insurers, sharing insights about the center’s specialized asthma services and ensuring comprehensive, high-quality care for patients. Working closely with the healthcare team, she actively promotes the visibility of the Asthma Center of Excellence, supporting its mission to deliver seamless, patient-centered care.



Outside of her professional life, Pilar enjoys quality time with her husband and their dog and cat. She has a passion for exploring new destinations and creating healthy dishes in the kitchen.
